Visitors and residents can escape to the great outdoors all year round and also can enjoy many other activities the community of New Holstein offers.

Youth Recreation Programs

The City of New Holstein offers many opportunities for the youth of our community to learn and have fun through organized recreation. Instructional and competitive leagues run by local associations, operate throughout the four seasons.

Springtime offers boys and girls soccer competition with local and regional competition. The season culminates when New Holstein Soccer Association sponsors a boy / girl tournament attended by over 100 area teams.

A youth trap shooting league, DNR Hunter Education program, and a free fishing clinic sponsored by local Sportsman Clubs, are also run during spring.

Summertime brings out the balls and bats as baseball / softball instructional and competitive leagues are available for kids from Kindergarten age to grade nine. The city also sponsors traveling baseball teams which compete with other regional community teams.

Instructional swim lessons for all ages and skill levels are provided at the New Holstein Aquatic Center, by qualified Lifeguard instructors. Recreational swimming is available seven days a week.

The fall season offers a 5th -6th grade girls instructional volleyball league, and a nine week long tackle football instructional league for 6th - 8th graders.

The winter season brings many recreational opportunities such as sledding, tubing and snowboarding at Optimist Park, and cross country skiing and ice skating at Kiwanis park.

Boys and girls instructional and competitive basketball leagues start in late fall and run to early spring.

Adult Recreation Programs

All New Holstein school district residents can participate in many forms of recreation, all year long, at the New Holstein Fitness Center.

Spring offers an organized horseshoe league, and trap shooting leagues that run into the summer.

Summertime offers adult lap swimming, water aerobics, and recreational swim time at the Aquatic Center, and an adult co-ed Kickball league. The parks system offers many other individual recreational opportunities.

An adult co-ed Volleyball league starts in October and runs through February, and open gym for adults is held every Sunday evening throughout the winter at New Holstein High School.
